" Ten major trade partners of Georgia account for 67.4%
of the country's foreign trade turnover in the first half of 2008.

Three CIS states account for 25.6% of Georgia's trade turnover,
compared to a 32% share of 4 CIS states in the similar period of 2007.

Turkey is Georgia's major trade partner in the period. The trade
turnover with the country made up USD 569.8m, up 47% compared to the
similar period of last year. The country's share in the total trade
turnover increased by 0.3% from 14% to 14.3%.

In January-June 2008, Georgia exported to Turkey goods and services
worth USD 136.3m, up USD52.5m compared to the similar period of 2007.

Georgia increased exports of such items to Turkey as scrap of ferrous
metals (up USD 32.5m), ferroalloys (USD 9.4)m and nitric fertilizers
(USD 5.4m). The imports from Turkey increased by USD 129.9m. The
imports of medications increased most (USD 8.5m).

Trade turnover with Azerbaijan, the second-largest trade partner of
Georgia, in the period made up USD 402.4m, up 78.9% compared to the
similar period of 2007. The share of trade turnover with Azerbaijan
rose from 8.1% to 10.1%.

The export with Azerbaijan in the period rose by USD 43.1m compared
to the similar period of last year. Major export items were cement
(USD 44.7m), motor cars (USD 30.0m). The imports from the country
increased by USD 134.4m to USD 296.1m.

Ukraine ranks third in the list of Georgia's ten major trade
partners. The trade turnover with the country made up USD 379.6m, up
44.1% compared to the same period of last year. Ukraine's share in
the total trade turnover is the same 9.5%. The exports from the
country rose by 60.4%. The growth resulted from an increase in the
exports of ferro alloys (USD 8.5m), railway locomotives (USD 8.0m)
and natural wines (USD 3.4m). The imports from Ukraine rose 41.3 %
totaling USD 318.7m. In the period, the imports of buses (USD
17.7m), flour (USD 14.6m) and cigarettes (USD 12.9m) increased most.
