Tobacco cigarettes exports by country totaled US$19.8 billion in 2015, down by an average -10.2% for all tobacco cigarette-shipping countries over the five-year period starting in 2011 when cigarette shipments were valued at $22.1 billion. Year over year, the value of global tobacco cigarette exports declined by -18.8% from 2014 to 2015. Insidermonkey experts made a list of 10 countries that export the most tobacco in the world.
Among continents, European countries accounted for the highest dollar value in tobacco cigarettes exports during 2015 with shipments amounting to $12 billion or 60.4% of worldwide exported cigarettes. Asia supplied 31.3% of the global total, followed by North American cigarette providers at 4.8%. African exported 1.5% worth of cigarettes. Latin America (excluding Mexico) and Caribbean nations was close behind at 1.4%, while Oceania (mainly New Zealand and Australia) came in at 0.5%.
