There were 84 stocks in Paulson’s 13F filing with a total value of $34 Million. We don’t have data about Paulson’s international holdings or the stocks he is short. Nevertheless, the performance of these 84 stocks explain most of Paulson’s miseries. WSJ points out that Paulson has a loss of $500 Million from Sino-Forest bets. Paulson has other large losses too. He lost a total of $634 Million from his Bank of America (BAC), Citigroup (C), Capital One (COF), Suntrust (STI), Wells Fargo (WFC), and JP Morgan (JPM) bets. Even his gold investments turned sour. Paulson’s losses totaled $283 Million due to losses in gold mining stocks.
