Lifetime has announced that season five of Project Runway All Stars will debut on 11 February, featuring, most notably, 2013 season 12 winner Dom Streater. As a fan of Dom and her designs, I’m pleased – but her inclusion, and the regular return of former winners to the All Stars lineup, raises some questions. Project Runway is supposed to be a launching pad for the “next great American fashion designer”, as one of the show’s taglines insists.
