If Brazil is going to maintain its grasp on the global orange juice market, it’s going to have to shake things up a bit. Brazil makes and distributes more orange juice than any other country in the world, and it’s not even a close race—the country makes more than 50% of the world’s orange juice. But recent history hasn’t been all that kind to the citrus giant. Orange juice production has grown stagnant over the past few years and orange juice exports, which the local industry relies heavily on, have fallen almost 15% since their peak in 2013. Insidermonkey experts made a list of 7 countries that produce the most juice in the world.
Oranges are highly valued for their vitamin C content, and are a source of vitamin C for most Americans. Oranges also contain folacin, calcium, potassium, thiamin, niacin and magnesium. Most of the consumption of oranges is in the form of juice. Eating the whole fruit provides 130% of the recommended dietary allowance for vitamin C, less than the juice, but more fiber, which is not present in the juice. Don't forget to check our recent list of 8 countries that produce the most iron in the world as well.
