Coming in at roughly 10 million people, New York is the largest US city by population. When I looked into further into the results, we were surprised at which cities made the list. In fact, I searched beyond the largest US cities by population, and found the article of Insidermonkey which featured 21 Biggest Cities in the US by 2014 Population. Take a peek at the places with the largest populations, you will be surprised!
Some consolidated city-counties, however, include multiple incorporated places. This list presents only that portion of such consolidated city-counties that are not a part of another incorporated place. This list refers only to the population of individual municipalities within their defined limits, which does not include other municipalities or unincorporated suburban areas within urban agglomerations. A different ranking is evident when considering U.S. metropolitan area populations.
