Scholars can debate endlessly over which book is the "best" of all time, but finding out which ones have enjoyed the most commercial success should be a more concrete endeavor. We can just look at the sales numbers and rank them. Unfortunately, this turns out to be quite a challenge itself. But experts of Insidermonkey have done the hard work and make a list of the best-selling books of all time. If you love reading, you must check this list out!

However, you should remember that, a bestseller or best-selling book refers to the number of copies sold – not the number of copies printed. Also, the list does not differentiate between different languages of the same book. Moreover, the list excludes the Bible, the Qur’an, the Gita, the Communist Manifesto and Quotations from Chairman Mao which are all reported as the most distributed books in the world, but there are no exact figures as some of these books are printed over centuries and by different sources. For the record, some excluded books have sold an estimated hundreds of millions of copies each and would have taken most of the top positions on the list.
