When we
come across the sentence “most expensive countries in the world”, the first
thing that comes to our mind has to do with the tourism of the target country.
And how that country is high-priced from the tourist’s perspective. While
visiting another country, we often compare prices in order to check if they are
too expensive or maybe too cheap for our standards. However, we rarely stop to
think how the prices in the target country are suitable to the wages of the
citizens living there.
In my
opinion, the most
expensive countries in the world are the ones that have developed
tourism. That is because normally, when someone goes to a foreign country, that
someone has the tendency of spending the money he or she managed to save during
the past year. Or in other words, the person in question forgets about his/hers
spending limit. On the one hand, viewed from the tourist’s perspective, this is
quite acceptable. But, on the other hand, this could be a bad thing for the
residents of that country because the prices are probably too high for their
standards, and they don’t gain anything from the tourists.
All in all,
if you are planning to go on a trip somewhere, you should probably get as much
information as you can about the place that you are planning to visit. As well
as about the country where that place is located. For your benefit, it would be
nice to be informed about the living standards as well.
