EMC has an average analyst recommendation score of 1.80 (1=strong buy, 2=buy, 3=hold, 4=sell, 5=strong sell). We agree with the analysts. However, the company is also facing a lot of competition and pricing pressure in the storage segment. But we think these risks are offset by its leading position in the market. EMC also has a strong balance sheet and a record of generating consistent free cash flow. EMC is also quite popular among hedge funds tracked by us. At the end of the third quarter, there were 37 hedge funds with EMC positions. For example, billionaire Ken Fisher is the most fund manager about EMC.
