Have you ever heard about a country called Nauru? How about Tuvalu? How many of us can honestly that we have or that we even visited the countries?
It is not surprising if you haven't heard of these places as they are hardly ever mentioned in the news.
The smallest countries in the world are unlikely to start wars and they are not very present on TV and in the newspaper. Some of them are so small that they make our hometown appear large in comparison.
But these countries are actually fascinating and hide real natural beauty and potential for tourism. Some of these countries are usually very popular tourist destination as they often have beautiful beaches and wonderful nature, such as Monaco.
We decided to learn more about these fabulous places and made a list of 15 smallest countries in the world by population and area.
